School is a recognized leader in Quality Management, both in its teaching and in its practice. Consistent with that focus, in 1992 a special intensive program of study to examine Dr. W. Edwards Deming’s System of Profound Knowledge was designed for students interested in concentrating in Management Systems.
Deming Scholars MBA Program is an 18-month, full-time honors curriculum that integrates Fordham’s MBA business courses with Deming’s theories and practical business experience. It culminates in an MBA in Management Systems with an International Business designation.
Deming Scholars learn in a group, alternating five eight-week sessions of classroom lectures, research and study with four seven-week practica at participating companies where they can put theory into practice.
Students also engage in analysis of actual statistical studies used in legal testimony; work on six group projects; and complete an 18-month research project that ties management practice and issues into academic literature.
